They Killed the Electric Car!

So... the question posed to us by a recently viewed video was, "who killed the electric car?" At first reaction, I was straight up thinking, "what is this even about?" The video began and I was soon engulfed in the greatness of this electric GM EV1 car that I had never heard of. Celeberities were singing praises of glory to the spectacular car that ran off of all electricity, something that seems like the world really needs at this time. Even Mel Gibson with his funny looking, 300(the movie)-esque beard had something excellent to say about his cool electric car! It made me really want an electric car. I would drive around all stealh like(within my 100 mile range of course) and be cool and environmentally friendly. Everyone wants to be environmentally friendly nowdays. See, the only problem with this electric car is that, as great as it was, the people at GM who made the car no longer wanted them out on the road. The movie led up to the sad truth that ALL of the EV1's were rounded up and put to death. It honestly kind of sucked seeing all those cool cars.. well cool in theory, they actually looked kind of weird.. getting crushed. It made me mad to think that something so good, clean and beneficial could be taken away just so that oil companies, car companies and the government would not lose their threshold and profit margins on American//the world's society. These people are afraid of change and afraid to lose the empire they have built. However, for the good of the Earth, I think that these people of power need to humble themselves and do what is best for the planet, not what is best for their wallets.
